John Patti- Steel Drums/Vocals/Percussion/Guitar/Songwriter Four time Trop Rock Music Association “Musician of the Year” winner, JOHN PATTI brings the steel pan to the forefront of musical entertainment with an “island infused jazz and blues” style. John’s expressively smooth sound elevates the steel pan from its perceived impression as just an island instrument to one of versatility across many musical genres. Whether solo or collaborating with bands, John’s unique blend of Latin percussion, steel drums, intriguing stories and skillful performances leave long lasting and memorable impressions with every audience. Originally from Baltimore, John began playing regular drums at age three, developing his skill in percussion through school music programs. At age ten, he came across a set of steel pans, which piqued his interest and motivated him to experiment with the instrument, ultimately teaching himself by ear. A year later, John began performing for public events in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region, jumpstarting his musical career and worldwide travel. Over the years, John’s popularity has grown internationally for his innovative take on the steel pan and has taken him on stages around the world with greats like Les Paul in New York City, Nadirah Shakoor at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the Coral Reefer band in Key West and stadiums around the country performing the National Anthem. John Patti has published four solo albums; Above the Fold (2006), Cabana Breeze (2010) , A Calyp-Soul Christmas (2012) and Little Place I Go (2018) . All are classic examples of John’s trademark “Island infused jazz and blues” sound. Many songs from both albums can be heard daily on Sirius/XM Radio’s Radio Margaritaville.
